Guangyuan Xing

Guangyuan (Sam) Xing (邢广远) is a interdisciplinary artist based in New York City. He holds an MFA in Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design—where he also served on the MFA Fine Arts Administration Committee—and a BFA in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts.

Xing is the Founder, President of the Dawn Eleven Contemporary Art Foundation, a nonprofit supporting emerging artists and curators through fellowships, site-specific exhibitions, and research-based initiatives. He also serves on the curatorial committee of 25E Gallery, contributing to the development of public programs and curatorial planning. In June 2025, he assume the position of Global Director of Arts Education Partnerships on the Education Committee of the Contemporary Institute of Contemporary Art Vancouver (CICA Vancouver).

Working across installation, sculpture, video, painting, and calligraphy, Xing’s practice explores the entanglements of memory, emotion, space, and abstraction. His process-driven work often employs repetition, erasure, and performative gestures to express themes of nostalgia and emotional distance—blending Eastern materials with contemporary conceptual strategies.

His recent exhibitions include the 2025 Chengdu Biennale, Re:Turning (Parsons MFA Thesis Exhibition), Displaced Landscape (25E Gallery), Turn Off Personalized Recommendations (South Visual Arts Museum, Nanjing), Stranger Dreams (On The Fringe, Tribeca), and public art initiatives such as Art History 101: A Brush With Fashion and Barkitecture on Madison Avenue. His photography has been featured on Vogue Italia’s PhotoVogue.

Xing’s work and institutional leadership have been featured in Hyperallergic, E-flux, TIME OUT, 凤凰网(ifeng), 搜狐网(Sohu), Gotham To Go, DART, and other platforms.
